Winter Reading Program Kicks off at the New Castle- Henry County Public Library

Penguins are waddling to the New Castle- Henry County Public Library for the winter reading program. The program is offered through the library, runs from December 14 through January 11, and is open to all ages. The theme for this year will be penguins, with each program varying depending on age category.

During winter reading, participants can register on Beanstack, which is an online tracking program. The registration address is nchcpl.beanstack.org. Once registered, readers can track time spent reading and attending library events using Beanstack website or mobile app.

“If you or someone you know loves penguins, definitely check out our winter reading program this year!” noted Krystal Stanich, Teen and Adult Services Librarian.

Several events happening during the winter months will be tied into the winter reading themes, including the following:

Winter Reading program kick-off will be held on December 14 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Library. Penguins from the Newport Aquarium will be visiting, giving participants the opportunity to enjoy an up close and personal encounter with the incredible animals.

The STEAM program will be held on January 11 and will also be penguin themed.
