Dune

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Dune is a 1965 science fiction novel by Frank Herbert. Dune takes place on the desert planet Arrakis. It follows a boy, but not just any boy. Paul of the house Atreides. Heir to Arrakis, the most valuable planet in the universe. Home of spice. Follow Paul as he is thrust into a terrible purpose to avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family. There lies so much in Dune to discover. Giant sand worms! The Bene Gesserit, but don’t call them witches!

What I love most about Dune is it is the seed of the series. It can be slow to start but it gets so much better. You really start to see blooms in the 2nd half. I’m a little late to the Dune train but that’s okay. I highly recommend Dune: Messiah, the 2nd book. I’m currently on Children of Dune. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you enjoy the Dune series.
