Get a Library Card
Library cards are free to individuals in Henry County. Residents of Knightstown, Fall Creek Township, and Spiceland Township are eligible for reciprocal borrowing cards. Simply present photo identification with your current address to the checkout desk to receive your free card. Acceptable forms of photo identification are drivers license, state ID card, passport, military ID, school ID or employment ID that includes name and photo. Acceptable forms of identification for proof of address are a driver's license, utility bill, personalized checks, voter registration, or proof of property ownership in Henry County.
Students who attend school in Henry County, but live outside of Henry County are eligible for a library card.
Library cards are available to those of any age, although parents must co-sign for children under age 18. Library cards may be used for sign-in to library computers, place holds, register for library programs, and, of course, check out books and materials. You will be held responsible for any item checked out with your library card.
Borrowing Schedules
Audiobooks - 14 day - item limit=10
Books - 28 days - item limit=30
CDs - 7 Days - item limit=3
DVDs and Videos - 5 days - item limit=5
Documentaries on VHS or DVD - 7 days - item limit=5
Magazine back issues - 7 days - item limit=10
If items have not been requested by other patrons, you may renew items one time (except movies) online by logging into your account or by calling the library.
Fines and Fees
DVDs and Videos - $1 per item, per day
All other items - $0.10 per item, per day
The library will block any account from use if the total fine exceeds $5. The library uses a collection agency to aid in collecting fines in excess of $25 and/or items 42 days overdue.
