Volunteering at the library is a great way to make a positive difference in your community, meet your neighbors, and have some fun. Each volunteer project lasts approximately three months, at which time it may be renewed. Whether you have one hour a week or ten hours a week to share, we welcome friendly, dedicated library supporters to assist us as we provide materials, services and programs for Henry County. Background checks performed and training supplied for all volunteers.
If you like to help behind the scenes, are detail-oriented and like quiet, solo work, you might enjoy these volunteer projects:
Help us put protective jackets, special labels, stamps, and security tags onto new books and other materials. This project has Monday-Friday daytime volunteer opportunities.
Help us keep library books and other materials bright and shining clean in the Bookmobile department. This project has Monday-Friday daytime volunteer opportunities.
If you are a genealogy or local history buff and have good computer skills, help us index local old newspapers so that we may share the unique information they contain on our website. This project has Monday-Sunday daytime and evening volunteer opportunities.
If you’re a people-person and want to assist with programs or be out and about in the library, you might enjoy these volunteer projects:
Help prepare crafts for and assist during Children’s programs. This project has Monday-Sunday daytime and evening volunteer opportunities.
Help us put books and other materials back on the shelves after they’ve been returned, so they can be found and checked-out again. This project has Saturday-Sunday daytime and evening volunteer opportunities.
